Brooke Boney to depart Today Show

Today Show presenter Brooke Boney has announced she will be departing the morning show in a matter of months.

Boney, who first joined the program in 2019 from triple j, announced the news during Friday morning’s show, revealing she has accepted an offer from Oxford University, which means she will depart the Nine network after the Olympics wrap in August.

“I don’t want to go into too much right now, because there’ll be plenty of time for goodbyes and thank you’s, but I just wanted to share that good slash bad news with you all this morning,” Boney said.

“It’s been a dream of mine to be able to study at an overseas university, and it just felt like the right time to take that step.

“I’m so grateful to come in here every day and I love you all so much. So it’s made the decision really difficult. But it just means that you’ll all have to plan trips to the UK to come and visit.”

Boney made the move to the Today Show in 2019 after departing triple j where she worked alongside now-NOVA duo, Ben & Liam.

She previously worked at NITV and SBS.
