Bruno Bouchet takes marketing job at Casio
Bruno Bouchet, who resigned from his producer role on the Kyle & Jackie O show after making a series of ill-advised jokes on Twitter about a US massacre, has reemerged in a marketing role.
Bouchet is now the sales and marketing manager for watch brand Casio Timepiece.
He revealed the new role in a Media Week podcast. He said: “It’s something very fancy – sales and marketing manager for Casio Timepiece – those G-Shock watches. It’s what I do and I love it.”
After leaving the Today Network radio show where he was guest and talent producer for two years, Bouchet ghost wrote Kyle Sandilands autobiography Scandalands. Bouchet told Media Week that although he didn’t get any official credit for his role, it was lucrative. He said: “To dry my tears, I wipe it on the leather uholstery of my Audi and everything’s so much better.”
Bouchet also revealed that he has returned to Twitter after deleting the account at the time of his resignation.
what an awesome bloke

I’m sure that the other people who would’ve applied for the role would think differently…
For the sales and marketing manager to say that about Casio says a lot about him, Casio and it is a great way to promote the business.

In fairness to Bruno,
If you listen to the podcast, the context makes clear that he’s being modest about his own role – he’s not talking down the brand.
Also, I’ve listened to the clip a couple of times… I think Bruno in fact says “something very fancy”, not “nothing very fancy”, so I’ve amended it accordingly

I’m glad people can understand sarcasm #onceagainbeingsarcastic

Good on you, Bruno, a guy’s gotta bounce back.

Sarcasm maybe, but having already lost one job through inappropriate postings on twitter surely you would think a little more intelligently about what you say on camera/podcasts, especially as you know that is likely to be reported online and can come across very differently. Time to concentrate on doing your job i reckon

Bruno – maybe you should watch what you say and learn to curb your sarcasm… it’s doesn’t seem to do you any favours pal.

Give the guy a break for crying out loud. He has landed himself a sweet job, good for him.

Hi Alex, Hi Dave
If you bothered to actually listen to the audio you’d clearly hear that I said “it’s something fancy” as opposed to “it’s nothing fancy.” (head to the 52m30s mark)
But you know … never let the truth get in the way of kicking my head in.
Anyway – time to concentrate on doing my job and learning to curb my sarcasm
Your pal,
-Bruno

Good on him. Can’t help but think the ‘it’s nothing fancy’ was added to the story to get a response/comments/pageviews. Seems irrelevant to the appointment.

is this guy a friend of the site or something?

Wow Mumbrella. I had a listen and Bruno clearly said “something very fancy”. What a terrible error on your part. You should amend this misquote immediately. I normally look to this site as a source of credible information. Not anymore I’m afraid.
And to the terrible people commenting. Way to kick someone while they’re trying to pick themself up. Congratulations Bruno on the job, and I enjoyed listening to the podcast. A shame other people don’t give it a listen before shooting from the hip.

Hi Celia,
Thanks for pointing this out.
I’ve taken a listen back – and I think you’re right. As I mentioned above, either way, it’s clear that Bruno isn’t dissing Casio.
I’ve amended the piece and removed a couple of the comments that assumed he said “nothing” rather than “something”.
My apologies.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Thanks Tim – faith in Mumbrella restored!
