Budget Direct is playing on the wearable technology trend and its ‘smarter, cheaper, winner’ tagline in a new ad promoting the insurer’s online discounts for its car and home insurance products.
The animated spot sees aliens Zeek and Zia chatting outside their home, with Zeek decked out in smart technology including smart glasses, a smart watch and a new smartphone which Zia doesn’t seem too impressed with, remarking: “Thank goodness you got us great online discounts from Budget Direct first”.
The ad was made by production house Liquid Animation.
The insurance company retired Michelle and Michael in favour of animated aliens Zeek and Zia in August last year.
