Burson-Marsteller overhauls brand marketing offering

PR agency Burson-Marsteller has revamped its brand marketing offering in Australia, merging its consumer brands arm with digital arm Encoder PR.

The announcement:

Sydney, Australia, 20 July 2012 – Burson-Marsteller Australia (B-M) today announced plans to ramp up its brand marketing offering in Australia. The company will combine its consumer brands division with digital offshoot Encoder PR.

The new, expanded team will offer traditional and digital execution backed by big creative ideas and strategic thinking. The division already boasts an impressive roster of clients including Jim Beam Australia, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Money.

“We are excited about the convergence of our B-M brands team and Encoder PR. The two teams complement each other and together will enable us to meet growing demand from local and global clients for more integrated brand campaigns,” said Christine Jones, CEO, Burson-Marsteller Australia.

Alexandra Churcher and Daniel Young will work as a joint leadership team during the transition phase. They will oversee a creative and energetic team with strong experience and capability across the travel and tourism, lifestyle, consumer electronics, personal finance and alcohol sectors. Lisa Collins, who joined the agency in February, will be departing.

“We believe it is the right time to be re-energising our brand offering in Australia. This move is the first step in a new journey for B-M in Australia,” continued Jones. “We’re building on a strong platform as a result of recent campaigns for leading brands that span traditional media, events and activations, social media and content marketing.”
