Cadbury Twirl can predict the future in latest campaign

Mondelēz’s Cadbury Twirl can predict the future in a new campaign by Cadbury’s global creative agency, VCCP.

The campaign showcases an online experience created by VCCP CX: the ability to scan the interior of a Twirl to get a reading.

In the 30 second spot, two sisters are in a kitchen when one grabs the Twirl from the other. She then scans the inside of the chocolate bar using her phone and predicts that her sister will either get married or fired. It is then revealed that the sister is already married. The spot ends with the campaign’s title: “Your future’s in the swirls and curls.”

Mondelēz’s associate director equity & partnerships Australia & New Zealand Anthony Ho said: “We needed a global campaign platform that could inject some fun into the brand and engage consumers with Twirl and its distinctive features. The ability to make people stop and look at their chocolate, mid-snack, is an exciting opportunity and has truly made Twirl the hero of its own advertising in this campaign.”

VCCP’s executive creative director Chris Birch added: “Forget the magic eight ball, the fortune cookie, the alignments of the planets or tea, if you really want to know your future, the answer is in the swirls and curls of a delicious Twirl. Who knew?! (Well we did when Aly and Emma came up with this idea after seeing it written in their Twirls about three years ago), and we are very thrilled that that prediction has come so gloriously true. Now for the Lottery.”

The campaign is targeted towards young millennials and is on TV, online video and socials.

The brand platform will run from 8 August into 2022 in Australia and New Zealand.

Last year in May 2020, Cadbury released a campaign continuing the ‘There’s a glass and a half in everyone’ brand platform via VCCP.

VCCP’s other recent work includes campaigns for Compare the Market and Hipages.
