Camille Alarcon switches journalism for PR as Brooke Hemphill joins Mumbrella
Mumbrella deputy editor Camille Alarcon is to join communications agency Launch Management Group as a PR consultant.
Her last day with Mumbrella is today.
Meanwhile, Brooke Hemphill has joined Mumbrella as head of Training & Video Content.
Mumbrella editor Tim Burrowes said: “I’m very sorry to lose Camille, but undertand why, after writing about communcations and marketing for so long, she would want to do it herself. If she turns out to be as good at marketing as she was a journalist, then she’ll do very well indeed.”
Prior to Mumbrella, Alarcon worked on Marketing Week magazine in the UK and before that was news editor of B&T magazine.
Meanwhile, Hemphill joins Mumbrella with a brief to increase video output and to head up a new Mumbrella initiative which will be announced shortly.
For the last year, Hemphill has been producer of the Mumbo Report, based at Studio 33, where the show is filmed. She also presents web TV dating show That’s Why You’re Single.
Good luck Camille 🙂

Congrats Camille, one question though: do you have to give up the MumboCam Twitter account? Do you just have to change the username? Will it be rebranded to MumboBrooke?
All these questions and more will be answered on the next episode of The Young And The Mumbrella!

One can only revel at thought of Camille being on the OTHER side of a not-that-newsworthy PR pitch that your client is making you sell in to disinterested journalists anyway, or dealing with an ambush from a hostile journalist who wants an immediate response on something you don’t know anything about!
Good luck out there Camille, it’s a jungle! Te he he…

Sorry to hear your leaving. Hopefully you’ll have an equally entertaining replacement on the podcast so there’s some balance to that whinging Scotsman.
