CampaignLab drives digital advertising capabilities with new hire

Independent agency CampaignLab has hired Shaun Motu as business director – digital advertising, to expand its digital advertising offering and integrated capabilities.

Motu joins from Overdose New Zealand, where he was digital marketing strategy lead, working across brands including asics and FIFA.

In his new role, Motu will work alongside the agency’s digital performance director, Jack McElhone, to lead the agency’s development and execution of paid strategies across existing and emerging digital platforms.

Motu said he loves the work CampaignLab is doing, and loves “the energy it has to create change for brands”.

“I can see a huge opportunity to build on this further through new platforms, technologies and ideas,” he added.

“The speed at which the digital landscape is moving is incredible. Whether it’s GA4 rolling out, new platforms like Threads launching – albeit organically for now – or automation and AI integrations, everyday there’s something new. This creates massive opportunities for ambitious brands and we’re going to help our brands capitalise on them.”

Andy Scales, founder and director of CampaignLab said: “We help brands join the conversation and paid media is an essential channel for that. Shaun’s passion and expertise will help us continue to grow and create campaigns that make a difference to our partners.

“He’s made a big impact already in his first few weeks and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead,” he added.

The appointment follows a period of sustained growth for the agency, as well as the appointments of other key roles including Cass Hollis as art director, Jacob Hanrahan as content production manager and Ellie Mortel as earned media executive.
