Cannings Purple appoints Peter Klinger as director of its investor relations practice

Communications consultancy Cannings Purple has appointed Peter Klinger as director of investor relations.

Klinger has spent the past three years with the company, moving from his role as director of media strategy.

Klinger has been with Cannings Purple since 2017

Managing director, Warrick Hazeldine, said Klinger’s appointment was the next stage of evolution for the agency.

“Peter’s appointment is the latest step-change in Cannings Purple’s offering of industry-leading strategic financial and corporate communications services to listed and unlisted companies,” Hazeldine said.

“We have a strong focus on and expertise in the digital side of investor relations, with our suite of products including the Investor Insight news hub and social media channels. We are also producing webinars for clients as well as enabling them to conduct their investor roadshows via virtual platforms.

“I’m looking forward to seeing our Investor Relations practice grow even further under Peter’s leadership.”

Klinger moved across to public relations after building his career as a business and finance journalist for titles including The Australian Financial Review, The Times and The West Australian.

Klinger said the investor relations practice has never been more important to clients.

“I am excited to be leading the investor relations practice at a time when our clients realise that clear and concise communications, directed at the right audience at the right time, are more important than ever before,” he said.

“We have a great investor relations practice that, with the support of the entire Cannings Purple team, is committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for our clients on time, every time.”

Earlier this year, Cannings Purple hired Jenn Morris as national director of strategy. Her appointment followed David Lock joining the business as special counsel.

Last year, Cannings Purple launched a specialist stakeholder engagement team led by Charlie Wilson-Clark.
