CanTeen launches campaign for Bandanna Day
Cancer support foundation CanTeen has launched a campaign for Bandanna Day targeting “empathetic parents”.
The radio and print campaign aims to encourage Australians to purchase a bandanna to help support the charity which assists young people with cancer. It will also encourage parents to share their photos and stories on the National Bandanna Day Facebook page.
“Because CanTeen exists to support, develop and empower young people living with cancer, we targeted parents who were most likely to feel empathy, having children of their own,” said Nick Wokes, communications strategist at Match Media.
The print ads will run in New Idea and That’s Life magazines with radio ads to feature on the Australian Radio Network.
Creative was developed in-house at CanTeen while communication strategy and media buying and planning was devised by Match Media.
How do you expect to reach empathetic parents with such unemotional advertising?
Too many messages, spoken by insincere voices and absolutely no cut through.
Time to recruit an empathetic agency.
