Carat’s Couch-ella expands to become annual event

Carat’s 2020 isolation event Couch-ella will now become an annual occurrence, with the agency chalking the experience up as a success.

What started as a way to connect with clients and staff has become something ‘remarkable’, said CEO Sue Squillace.

“What started out as a thought on how we deliver something to help our staff and clients have an enjoyable experience during the lock-down, turned into this remarkable carnival where our media partners were more than happy to join with us and provide an amazing array of talent,” Squillace said.

“Over 1100 of media industry members tuned in on the day and the feedback from clients, staff and media partners has been incredibly heartening. I think we are on to a winner here,” Squillace added.

Carat staff voted on the top three sessions of the day, naming Cooking with Manu Feildel, Getting Financially Fit with Yahoo Finance and Nova Red Room hosted by Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald as the best experiences from the day.

The day also included a preview of Michael Brown’s new book I Don’t Agree, a podcast recording between Australian Radio Network (ARN)’s Christian O’Connell and Amanda Keller, a performance from Courtney Act and an exclusive interview with Olympian swimmer Cate Campbell.

Carat partnered with brand experience and entertainment agency MKTG on the event. Client solutions partner Jarrad Provis said the business was very proud of the result for Couch-ella.

“Produced in a period of isolation from homes and hotel rooms around Australia, London and LA, I could not be prouder of the creative ambition and flawless execution from the team on display with this event. Our aim was to create a meaningful experience, breaking down barriers to unite, engage and entertain our audience via a virtual platform, connecting them in real time, and in person to some of the best talent in the business.”
