Carbar appoints Kieron Wogan as its first CMO

Car subscription service Carbar has appointed Kieron Wogan as its first chief marketing officer.

Wogan is joining Carbar after spending over two years at HMD Global as its head of marketing for Australia and New Zealand.

Kieron Wogan is the first CMO of Carbar

Previously, Wogan was the chief marketing officer at Shop A Docket. Between 2013 and 2014 he worked at Suncorp as manager of digital marketing.

In his new role, Wogan will be reporting to Carbar CEO and co-founder Des Hang, who was previously managed by Wogan when the pair were both at Suncorp.

Hang said: “We conducted a national search for a marketer who could help bring our brand to the next level. It’s serendipity that Kieron – my former boss – is perfectly suited for this role.

“Kieron is an incredible marketer with a unique blend of skills across brand, PR, digital marketing and ecommerce. We’re excited to have him on the team.”

Wogan will be focusing on expanding Carbar’s brand and national reach, and sharpen the brand’s focus on its customers.

“Carbar is an extremely successful first mover in this emerging sector. More consumers and businesses are opting for car subscriptions because of the value and convenience they offer, and it’s exciting to work for a local business at the helm of this global trend,” Wogan said.

“My role is to help make Carbar a household name and grow the brand’s reach and influence across Australia.

“It’s also a privilege to work with Des again. This role for me is really what a modern career is all about; caring less about hierarchy and taking amazing opportunities as they arise.”
