CarExpert appoints former CarsGuide talent to new c-suite role

Automotive marketplace CarExpert has appointed Asher Saeed to its newly created chief product and information officer role.

This is the fifth c-suite appointment for the company after CEO, CFO, CTO and, most recently, CMO Chris Catchpoole.

Saeed has held roles in various businesses including Hipages and, more recently, CarsGuide where he served as chief product and technology officer.

He said: “I’m excited to be joining a company whose strategic direction is well-defined and yet where the world remains our oyster.

“I am looking forward to the agility that working within a challenger business presents and have already been impressed with what the team has been able to deliver in such a short period of time.

“I’m particularly excited to help CarExpert transition into a marketplace, which is something I think I’ve had a hand in for as many as five different businesses now.”

The appointment comes after the company replaced Nine-owned Drive as Australian Community Media’s media partner.

CEO of CarExpert, Damon Rielly, said: “We are thrilled to welcome a person of Asher’s calibre to our chief product and information officer role.

“The experience, capability and industry-knowledge that Asher brings with him will be critical to achieving our ambitious development roadmap as we chase down our goal of becoming an integral part of the consumer buying journey for new cars.”

CarExpert founder, Alborz Fallah, said: “We’ve proven that great people make great businesses. We remain confident that continuing to invest in the right people and projects will deliver on our strategic ambitions both in the short and long term.”
