Fairfax finance manager Carla Webb-Sear to join Network Ten as CFO

Network Ten has announced Fairfax manager Carla Webb-Sear is to join the company as CFO after David Boorman announced he will steop down from the role next month.

Webb joined Fairfax in 2007 as group financial controller before being appointed as the company’s group general manager of finance in April last year.

Incoming Ten CFO, Carla Webb-Sear: “Ten has evolved in a changing media landscape”

Boorman, who was appointed Ten’s CFO in 2015, moved across from Seven where he had held the same role for the previous 18 months.

During his tenure at Ten, Boorman had to deal with the network going into liquidation following key shareholders Bruce Gordon, Lachlan Murdoch and James Packer withdrawing financial support and US network CBS’s subsequent purchase of the business.

In a media statement announcing his stepping down, Boorman said: “I am proud of the transformation that has been achieved at Ten.

“With CBS, the company is now part of a major global media corporation with financial stability and is ready to take on the challenges ahead. I wish the company all the success for the future.”

Webb-Sear, who will report to Network Ten’s CEO Paul Anderson when she takes over the CFO role on May 14, added: “I am excited to be joining Ten and the strong team taking the network into the future with renewed vigour.

“Ten has evolved in a changing media landscape and I look forward to using my industry expertise to help make the most of the many opportunities ahead and drive the company’s performance.”

Anderson said in the media statement: “I am delighted to welcome Carla to Network Ten. An experienced financial professional and strong strategic thinker, she has a proven track record in leading change in fast-paced, complex and transforming industries.

“I would like to thank Dave for his significant contribution over the past two-and-a-half years and we wish him all the very best for the future.”

Mumbrella understands Fairfax will not be making a direct replacement for Webb-Sear following her departure.
