Carsales confirms ‘restructure’ as long-standing editor retires

Carsales has confirmed a “small restructure” has taken place at the company amidst rumours of redundancies.

Mumbrella has learned that affected staff members include some editors and journalists at used car retailer.

Though it would not comment on the speculated job cuts, carsales has confirmed to Mumbrella that long-standing Mike Sinclair is retiring from his role as the editorial director, though the exact timing of this change remains unclear.

A carsales spokesperson told Mumbrella: “There was a small restructure that took place as part of our ordinary course of business operations.

“We’ll have a new director of content and editor-in-chief in due time.”

Sinclair has served as the editor-in-chief for carsales for 18 years, launching the editorial team and helping to establish CarPoint.com.au.

In the last few months alone, Carsales has launched a number of new projects, including a venture with TikTok marketing partner, We The People, and campaigns with NRL team the Melbourne Storm and the AFL’s Sydney Swans.
