Cartelux pivots to focus on helping start-ups raise revenue

Sunshine Coast agency Cartelux, which is still riding high on a deal earlier this year to deliver videos for Google to car dealers across the globe, has pivoted the business to help start-ups looking for venture capital.

Josh WilliamsThe agency, which is also in the midst of expanding it’s footprint into Sydney and Melbourne, has picked the burgeoning start-up space as the next target for its growth.

Josh Williams, head of the B2B video specialist, said one of the keys to success for emerging businesses, many of which are in the tech sector, was sourcing funding, and the agency’s own model was now developing to help connect new businesses with venture capitalists by helping market the businesses to investors.

Cartelux has already had one major success, with with app developer Tiltsta, which ads a shopping element to videos brand videos, helping the business develop a pitch video that helped it win $150,000 in funding through Publicis’ ‘Publicis90’ global start-up initiative.

tiltstaThe company is also working with Art Money, which is developing a model to help art galleries provide interest free loans to help drive art sales.

“The thinking came from the culture of Cartelux and we are essentially a relatively new company ourselves and a start-up ourselves, connecting with other like-minded start-ups and businesses.”

He said that the needs of start-ups often aligned with how Cartelux was developing its model as it expanded the areas in which it was working beyond working with clients such as Google.

“It’s exciting to start off with these start-ups and really help shape the company as they grow.”

“Effective video marketing is now an essential part of how start-ups attract either investors or gain traction in their market, and we’re passionate about helping fellow Aussie startups do both,” he said.

Williams said the agency would largely focus on the ad-tech side of the industry where there was a natural fit, but was also open to working with start-ups in other areas.

The agency is currently working with five start-up businesses and aims to ultimately work with a total of 10.

He also said that Cartelux could itself become an investor in some of the businesses, while others it was helping with resources such as office space.

Other start-ups the agency is already working with include car site autoreviewa.com.au.
