Celebrity MasterChef finale draws in 700K metro viewers

Ten’s finale episode of Celebrity MasterChef was the #1 entertainment program on Monday night, but it was Nine which celebrated an overall night win.

Celebrity MasterChef brought in a metro audience of 700,000, winning all three key advertising demos, while 805,000 metro viewers tuned in at the last 15 minutes of the episode to hear the winner being announced. The premiere of the show aired to 620,000 metro viewers.

AFL star Nick Riewoldt was crowned the winner of Celebrity MasterChef, saying he was thrilled and emotional to be taking home the trophy, title, and $100,000 for his nominated beneficiary Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision.

Upon winning the season, Riewoldt said: “It’s amazing, I am overwhelmed. This has been one of the best things I’ve done, and one of the best experiences I have had.

“There is an emotional element in terms of the charity that I’m playing for and this will make a tangible difference to people’s lives.

“I finally get to lift some silverware, that’s been a missing chapter. I’ve been a part of teams for a long time, and this is one of the great teams that I’ve felt privileged to be part of.”

Meanwhile, Seven’s Home And Away was next in entertainment, pulling in a metro audience of 512,000, followed by the network’s The Chase Australia which aired to 498,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s Big Brother VIP pulled in 340,000 metro viewers.

The #1 program on Monday was Seven News, which had an average of 961,000 metro viewers, ahead of Seven News at 6:30 with 944,000, ahead of Nine News at 6:30 which pulled in 881,000.

As previously mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 26.3% over Seven’s 24% share, while Ten had 23% and the ABC took an 17.6% share.

Nine also won primary channel share while the top-rating multi-channel for Monday was 10 Bold with a share of 3.5%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 15 November, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear and BVOD television, with 1.496 million viewers including 33,000 on national BVOD.

Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? was the #1 entertainment program again with 1.183 million viewers, including a national BVOD audience of 73,000 views, an uplift of 20%.

The program with the biggest uplift however was Monday’s episode of Nine’s Love Island which had an 122% uplift on overnight figures and had a total of 565,000 viewers overall and a national BVOD audience of 254,000.
