Celebrity Masterchef picks up
Ten’s Celebrity Masterchef saw a slight improvement on Wednesday night, with an audience approaching 1.2m.
That compared to just under 1.1m last week and 1.4m for its debut. This mostly held through for Ten’s NCIS Los Angeles which rated 1.1m.
But Ten’s new hospital series Three Rivers bombed in the 9.30pm slot, rating less than 500,000 viewers.
Meanwhile Nine’s Money for Jam saw a dramatic drop in audience after its two episode break to make room for the Hey Hey Reunions. According to preliminary data from OzTam, last night’s episode rated just 858,000, compared to 1.1m before it took its break and around 2.2m for the Hey Hey specials over the last two Wednesdays.
Seven narrowly won the night.

It’s pretty grim when the most watched show of the night has only 1.4m viewers across all capital cities. I’d love to see a graph of the last 20 years of net ratings of both entertainment and 6pm news bulletins – it would be very interesting (and, if you ran a network, alarming) reading me thinks…

Well I certainly tuned in to Masterchef but that was just to see the hotness that is Eamon Sullivan! Shame he didn’t cook in his budgie smugglers – now there is an idea for a reality show!
