Multi Channel Network has launched a campaign to introduce the new presenter of Channel V.
Marty Smiley, a 21 year-old Melburnian, is the new face of the music channel, and a short film follows the fortunes of Smiley as he relocates to Sydney.
The campaign is co-branded with V Energy, and coincides with the energy drink’s ‘V Rentals’ campaign. Produced inhouse by Channel V, it will run for three weeks on Channel V, V HITS and vmusic.com.au.
Smiley will host Channel V’s flagship programs including the weekly live show, The Riff and WTF!. He will also front the channel’s coverage of Splendour In The Grass.
Elizabeth Minogue, MCN strategic integration director at MCN said: “The interstitial allows both Channel [V] and V Energy to do what they do best – take their young fans on a fun and entertaining ride. It’s a fantastic example of cross-branded content.”
Emily Copeland, group ad sales and strategic integration manager at Foxtel Networks added: “The Channel [V] Presenter Search was an incredibly successful promotion for the channel, and we’re thrilled to be introducing such fantastic new talent to Channel [V]’s audience. The partnership with V Energy gave us the ability to integrate the V Rental campaign characters into a great piece of talent-fronted content for Channel [V].”
