Charlotte Caslick, Kezie Apps, Lydia Williams, Ebony Marinoff front campaign for Asics’ football boots for women
Rugby 7s Olympic gold medallist Charlotte Caslick, NRLW player Kezie Apps, Australian soccer goalkeeper Lydia Williams and AFLW player Ebony Marinoff have fronted the latest campaign from sportswear brand Asics.
The campaign marks the launch of Asics new football boots that are designed specifically for the female foot. The TVC shows Caslick, Apps, Williams and Marinoff put their skills and bodies on the line because they feel empowered by finally wearing boots that were made for them.
Historically, female footballers have had to resort to playing in men’s or unisex boots which provide them with less support.
Caslick said: “It’s so great to see ASICS championing women’s football in developing a boot for females. Australian women in sport have accomplished so much and it’s exciting to head into a new decade where females are able to create their own identity and success without fitting into male athlete’s shoes – figuratively and literally.”
ASICS Oceania Managing Director, Mark Brunton said of the launch of the boots: “The Lethal Tigreor IT FF has been designed to fit the shape and contours of the female foot, offering women superior support and comfort on the field. ASICS has a long tradition of supporting women in sport; we are proud of this development and are inspired watching female footballers pave the way for future generations.”
A 30 second cut down of the TVC will also launch to support the campaign.
Caslick is also an ambassador for Tradie Underwear.
