CHE Proximity has announced the hire of Christian Hewitt as its new head of design in Sydney.
Following his appointment, Hewitt commenced the role immediately, starting yesterday, along with new CCO Gavin McLeod.
Hewitt has more than 15 year of experience in the creative and tech industries, “working at the intersection of design, storytelling and technology”, according to a statement.
Over the course of Hewitt’s career, he has worked at agencies including R/GA, Huge and For The People, working with clients such as Google, Apple, Nike, Beats, YouTube, Playstation, Lego, Electronic Arts and Red Bull.

Hewitt said: “I’m delighted to come on board and join such a talented team. I’m a big believer that design is a powerful agent of change. I’m excited to bring this thinking to such a breadth of opportunities, across a wide range of disciplines, for our clients at CHEP.”
He was most recently head of design at Streamtime, leading the experience and visual design team, also freelancing as a design lead, creative director as well as teaching and mentoring at General Assembly.
Hewitt’s past work has focused on connected design practices for digital products, services, campaigns and experiences.
McLeod said:“Christian’s work, whether it is designing a world-class digital experience or crafting an award winning campaign, is second to none. And, he just happens to be one of the nicest people in the industry who really cares about growing the people that work with him.”
McLeod was appointed to the role in March as Ant White’s successor following his decision to depart the agency in November. White, along with former CHEP CEO Chris Howatson, departed to set up their own agency, Howatson + White.
