Chris Harrison joins Allure Media as publisher

HuffPost’s former opinion editor Chris Harrison has been appointed as publisher for Allure Media’s Gizmodo, Lifehacker and Kotaku.

He replaces former managing editor and publisher Mark Serrells, who left the publisher in December last year after more than seven years.

Harrison joins the company from HuffPost Australia where he was opinion editor for more than two and a half years.

HuffPost Australia scaled back its operations in November last year, after the collapse of its joint venture with Fairfax Media. More recently, it appointed its new editors, Josh Butler and Eoin Blackwell.

Harrison has also held roles at Wise McBaron Communication and at News Corp, where he was property editor.

Commenting on his appointment, Harrison said: “After a refreshing break, I am thrilled to join the team at Allure Media and can’t wait to help take Gizmodo, Lifehacker and Kotaku from strength to strength both editorially and commercially.”
