Clemenger BBDO Brisbane announce new business wins and new hires

Clemenger BBDO Brisbane have announced new business wins, new hires and new creative leadership.

The announcement:

Clemenger BBDO is increasing traction in the Brisbane market with new business wins, new hires and new creative leadership fuelling momentum.

The group has today announced new partnerships with Ergon Energy, SMSF Financial Group and Brookwater Residential Development with the latest additions further bolstering a diverse client portfolio.

Brett Milne, GM Customer Experience and Marketing at Ergon Energy said, ”Clemenger BBDO understood the challenges that both our customers and our company are facing as the state’s electricity landscape evolves.

They clearly demonstrated their ability to partner strategically with us and we look forward to working together in the coming months”.

The new business wins follow on from recent international gongs – two First Prizes at the New York Festivals for the ‘Unexpected Happens’ campaign for short-term lender, Nimble.

Vanessa Brennan, Managing Director said, “There’s an unmistakable energy in the agency. We have added some exceptional talent to an already strong team – one that knows no limits when it comes to what we can accomplish through meaningful partnerships with our clients.”

Creatively, the agency is now being led by Cristian Staal and Marianne Harvey who were promoted to Creative Director roles in March.

Staal and Harvey continue to strengthen their offering with the pairing of a new team, Christie Meehan and Terry Whidborne.

Christie was ranked 3rd AWARD School in Australia when she graduated from the country’s top course for creatives, and she also won the hotly-contested app competition run by Cutting Edge nationally.

Christie is complemented by 24-year industry veteran Terry Whidborne who wears the unofficial title of being “the nicest man in advertising”.

Terry adds outstanding storytelling and illustration skills to the Clemenger BBDO quiver, having recently launched a series of books, co-authored with Nick Earls.

“We always aim to bring different people together from different creative backgrounds,” said Harvey.

“We believe diversity of experience is key to being able to tackle a client’s brief from a fresh angle.”

Staal and Harvey have also been guiding the next generation of stars in Brisbane with the duo lecturing at UQ and QUT and continuing to tutor at AWARD School after running the course in Queensland for three years.

According to the pair, there is a lot of young talent in Brisbane.

“We like to show the up-and-comers how world-class work can be done in your home town,” said Staal.

“As well, one day they might end up giving us a job.”
