Clemenger’s MADE THIS makes senior creative hire

Clemenger BBDO’s specialist production company, MADE THIS, has nabbed more Media.Monks talent, hiring a new head of creative technology, effective immediately.

Marie-Celine ‘MC’ Merret joins the company after nearly four years at Media.Monks, most recently working as head of business operations AUNZ.

She will work closely alongside fellow ex-Media.Monks boss, and current MADE THIS managing director, Vinne Schifferstein.

Together, the duo established Media.Monks in Australia and New Zealand in 2020.

Prior to that, Merret spent two years with the company in New Year, before moving to Australia in 2019 for a stint at VANDAL as executive producer.

She will be responsible for MADE THIS’ creative technology capabilities including experiential, immersive storytelling, gaming, AR, VR, XR, AI and content automation.

“I’m extremely happy that MC is joining us at MADE THIS,” Schifferstein said. “She’s one of the most forward-thinking can-do people in the industry that truly combines artistry with innovation. She’s critical in our journey to help clients change the way their creative work is being made.”

MADE THIS’ general manager of operations, Iain Todd, added: “The production landscape is evolving faster than ever.

“Brands are demanding a relevant capability that can make work in new and exciting ways. And MC’s appointment gives us exactly that.”

The company launched late last year, focusing on craft and innovation, using automation and AI to “create smarter production techniques and content”, without losing the essential human elements to engage audiences.

Clemenger’s former production agency, eg+, and its team of over 60 people was folded into the new offering.

Merret said: “I’m super excited to join MADE THIS to deliver on their mission and shape the next chapter in bringing more innovation driven solutions to our clients in both the work itself but also the production tactics.

“My background and passion are focused around creating work that evokes feelings and immerses people in unusual and astounding experiences all by blending sharp creativity and emerging technology, so this partnership is a perfect alignment!”
