Mutinex marketing lead departs as MMM start-up resets function
Claire Bertolus' new job is not yet public
Mutinex head of marketing Claire Bertolus is to depart the measurement start-up next month amid a broader restructure of its marketing operations.
Bertolus, who has led Mutinex’s marketing and communications for the past three years, will join a “market-leading” firm as the function shifts under the remit of chief operating officer Shane Treeves.
In a Linkedin post, Mutinex co-founder Henry Innis said the company had been “restructuring its marketing function for some time” as it moves towards a stronger product marketing focus.
Under the changes, Mutinex will recruit a product marketing lead, while public relations will now be handled by US-based agency Purpose Worldwide.
Innis paid tribute to Bertolus, writing: “Claire has been a key part of the Mutinex journey and has been an incredible part of our growth story.”
He declined to comment further on the new marketing function, while Bertolus was unavailable at the time of publication.
Bertolus’ departure follows a recent structural change at Mutinex, which saw Danny Bass depart at the end of September.
The former Dentsu Media ANZ and IPG Mediabrands Australia CEO joined the marketing measurement start-up in July 2024 as chief revenue officer, following senior stints at WPP Media, Snap and News Corp.
At the time, his departure was announced on Linkedin by Innis, who said the company continues to “adjust” its structure to “best handle our growth.”
He wrote at the time: “Danny has done a great job building and developing our sales function as chief revenue officer. It is now time for us to focus more of our resources on the US market.”
The shake-up also included the hiring of Nielsen VP Rich Perez as growth leader for the US market, and the return of John Sintras to Australia after leading Mutinex’s US operations for the past three years.
He will remain with the company, though his exact role has yet to be confirmed.
