Clemenger BBDO wins $10m unified Stockland account

StocklandStockland has appointed Clemenger BBDO as its lead creative agency for all of its businesses across Australia.

The appointment comes as Stockland centralises its retail, residential and retirement living businesses into one national account valued at around $10m a year.

Clemenger won the retail business from incumbent Sapient Nitro after the agency already won the residential portion of the business in November last year.Stockland appointed Clemenger as its lead creative agency for residential as it changed its state-based system to a central account, taking Stockland residential from Sapient Nitro in Victoria and Queensland and from The Property Agency in NSW. The move resulted in 15 redundancies for Sapient Nitro.

There was no lead creative agency for Stockland’s retirement living business, although the media buying side is managed by Carat and Melbourne-based Evergreen Advertising. Ikon Communications was given Stockland’s media account in June.

Andy Pontin, CEO of Clemenger Sydney said: “It’s a smart move to centralise the account and we’re looking forward to working across the entire business on what we hope will be a long and successful working relationship.”

And Ben Allen, Stockland’s general manager of marketing said Clemenger has been appointed at a time that marks an “exciting new era” for the brand.

“In Clemenger BBDO we’ve identified a partner who we think can deliver creative ideas that connect with our customers,” he said.
