CumminsRoss takes two creatives from Clemenger BBDO Melbourne

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne creative directors Jim Ingram and Ben Couzens have moved to join CumminsRoss as executive creative directors in January.

Deputy creative directors at Clemenger, Ant Phillips and Richard Williams have been promoted to creative directors following the departures.

Ingram said in a statement: “We’ve been watching CumminsRoss with a careful eye and what these guys have managed to achieve in just three years is nothing short of impressive.

‘To be given an opportunity to take the creative reigns and help shape the next chapter is an exciting prospect. We can’t wait to get stuck into it, there are exciting times ahead.”

CumminsRoss CEO Sean Cummins said in a statement: “Jim and Cuz are great talent and we believe it is the perfect time for this agency to embrace a new creative stewardship. Jason Ross was instrumental in luring the star team to the agency, and we have an exciting vision for the company.”

Clemenger creative chairman James McGrath said in a statement: “We are extremely fortunate in that, as well as being constantly approached by the best talent in the world, we have a wealth of talent within the agency.

“Rich and Ant also happen to fulfil one of our other key criteria – in addition to their creative brilliance, they’re extraordinarily nice guys and deeply believe in the Clemenger values. And we wish Jim and Couz well.”

The duo moved to Clemenger BBDO in 2011 from GPY&R and were deputy creative directors prior to the promotion, and will work directly with executive creative director Ant Keogh and creative chairman James McGrath.

CumminsRoss CEO Sean Cummins said in a statement: “Jim and Cuz are great talent and we believe it is the perfect time for this agency to embrace a new creative stewardship. Jason Ross was instrumental in luring the star team to the agency, and we have an exciting vision for the company.

“We have a simple strategy when it comes to talent. Hire the best. Jim and Cuz will be partners and hold an equity stake in the agency. So their creative journey takes on an added dimension.”

CumminsRoss has recently hired Naked founder Adam Ferrier, ex Omnicom M&A chief Craig Hart, and ex Possible European MD Scott Heron.

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s accounts include CUB, Mercedes-Benz, NAB Group, Pacific Brands and Tourism Victoria while Cummins Ross’ accounts include Fiat Chrysler, Nike, and Jacob’s Creek.
