Click PR has been awarded the Australia and New Zealand public relations account of cloud vendor Rackspace after a competitive pitch.

The announcement:

Sydney, Australia, 4 April 2012 – Click PR has won the Rackspace account for Australia and New Zealand after a competitive pitch.

The agency was also recently chosen as the launch partner for consumer affairs website uVent, and tech PR veteran Povel Torudd will be joining as Senior Account Manager from April 10.

Mark Randall, Country Manager Australia & New Zealand, Rackspace, spoke about why Click PR was chosen.

“Click PR shares our passion for young, entrepreneurial Australian businesses that compete successfully in the global marketplace. They were selected to work with Rackspace because of their experience with these challenger brands and disrupters.

“Right now the market for Hosting and Cloud computing in Australia is dominated by Telco’s, Systems Integrators and other generalists. For too long these companies have delivered poor service at inflated prices. Rackspace is excited about working with Click PR to spread awareness of a viable and cost effective alternative which we call Fanatical Support™.”

Click PR will begin managing Rackspace’s PR immediately.

“We’re thrilled to be representing Rackspace and helping them fuel their rapid expansion in the local market,” said Vuki Vujasinovic, Director of Click PR.

“They’re a global leader in hosting and cloud computing and they’re committed to helping online retailers and high growth Australian web companies, so the partnership is a natural fit.

“I’m also really excited about having Povel join our fast growing team. His experience across the board is second to none. He’s managed tech accounts like Dell and Kaspersky and also has consumer experience through Playstation and Nokia’s music involvement.”

Rackspace joins Click PR’s growing roster of entrepreneurial and disruptive brands including Kogan, Freelancer.com, BigCommerce, uVent, Mobotix, StudioProper, eStore Logistics and more.
