Collingwood celebrates ‘side by side’ motto
AFL club Collingwood has released an ad that celebrates its ‘side by side’ club motto ahead of the 2013 footy season.
The ad’s voiceover was written and performed by senior coach Nathan Buckley.
The script reads: “On the field, off the field. When you’re in need. When your teammate is in need. We turn up. That’s what side by side is about.”

Not only will they have a premiership cup in 2013 but also a plethora of advertising awards!
“You’ll be asked to do things you’d rather not do” like blood doping for instance? Pictures were nice, but I preferred last year’s spot.
I know what they were trying to do, but the coaches’ monologue was too contrived and derrick is right, Maxwell’s performance was poo.
If your going for the hearts and minds make sure your warm props don’t break the spell… Might have been better to keep his mouth shut and go for the knowing look instead….

Besides, do we really neeed their supporters to be encouraged to be any more tribal? If I was an opposition player, I’d be niggling Maxwell the whole game about his perfomance (that’s if his own team mates aren’t already doing it).
Was that the coach’s pre-match address or an ad?
The only interesting thing about this incredibly mediocre commercial was that it was produced by AFL Media.
