‘I’m still in Melbourne’: Commonwealth Bank showcases its local call centres
Commonwealth Bank has released a new campaign highlighting that its call centres aren’t overseas.
The 30 second television commercial shows Gordan ringing the call centre from his house only to find out it is his high school friend Ishan on the other end of the phone.
“So where in the world are you” Gordan asks.
“I’m still in Melbourne,” Ishan responds.
Ishan proceeds to sing the Richmond Tigers song as viewers are able to see his desk decked out in Richmond memorabilia.
Commonwealth Bank recently announced it would no longer charge ATM withdrawal fees for those who do not bank with Commonwealth Bank.
The ad again featured Gordan who was surprised when the ATM started talking to him to explain the changes.
Along with the latest campaigns, the bank underwent a slight rebrand in March, when it launched a new visual identity featuring a thinner font.
It feels like it took ’em longer to drop the ATM fees than the Tigers to win another premiership.

Fees are a total con. A full centrelink transaction of recording fortnightly income only costs a few cents and most banks the world over have been fee-free for some years.

This is part of CBA’s new “douchebag customer” campaign. The overarching theme is to illustrate how Australian customers are all what they call internally “UMCs” (standing for unreasonable moaning something-or-other).
Essentially, bank-bashing has gone too far in the internal view. This will hopefully teach Australians how awful they are, and how they need to shape up as a people.
LOL…

So it seems there is only one guy with the name Ishaan on this planet. Right CBA? Or was it his voice and name that gave him away to Gordo?
