Commonwealth Games provides Seven yet another weekly win

Seven’s Commonwealth Games has helped the network to a comfortable weekly ratings win, with its main channel achieving a 30.9% share according to OzTAM.

As the official ratings period returned following its Easter hiatus, Nine achieved a 15.8% main channel share across the five capital cities, while Ten managed a 10.1% share. The ABC was just able to beat Ten with a 10.4% share, while SBS achieved a 4.0% share.

Seven also led the key advertising demographics 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s, with shares of 30.2%, 30.3% and 29.7% respectively.

The top five shows of the week were all Commonwealth Games programming, with night six proving the most popular of the week with 1.480m metro viewers.

In the key demographics, Nine achieved 14.4% in 16-39s, 15.7% in 25-54s and 15.3% in 18-49s.

Nine’s highest-rated program of the week was Nine News on Sunday, which had a metro audience of 1.013m.

Across all channels, Seven comfortably won the week with a network share of 42.2%. Nine Network finished the week with a 23% share, while Ten’s total network share was 14.4%.

The upcoming week sees the return of Nine’s The Voice, which will battle Seven’s My Kitchen Rules for pole position.
