Consumers scream in churches, surgery and public toilets in first ever TV ads for Catch.com.au

E-commerce and online shopping website Catch.com.au has launched its first branded television commercial which features people screaming “catch” at inappropriate times.

Created by SO Productions, the four 15-second spots are set in a church, yoga class, surgery and urinal.

The first spot shows two women praying in church as one says “Where did you get that bag?” resulting in a sequence of “catch” screams.

Another ad includes two surgeons in the middle of an operation while one says “Hey Jeff where do you get your shoes?”.

“Catch,” the surgeons yell until the patient wakes up mid operation.

Two women in a yoga class are discussing where her perfume is from, again resulting in a screaming match of the word “catch” before going back to yoga as if nothing had occurred.

The last 15-second ad depicts two men at a urinal.

One of the men says “Nice watch where’d you get it?” while the other man turns to yell “catch”.

Ryan Gracie, head of marketing at Catch Group, said in a statement: “People are always asking the question ‘Where’d ya get that….?’ It’s part of the Aussie vernacular.

“Catch.com.au is Australia’s largest online retailer with over 50,000 products on offer across a range of categories such as technology, fashion, sports, homewares, so chances are whatever you’ve bought you could have bought from Catch.

“Offering great brands and products at fantastic prices is what we do, and we want the reflex answer to ‘Where’d you get that…?’ to become ‘Caaaaattttccchhh’.”

The campaign is set to run on Nine and across YouTube and Facebook.
