Content director Charlie Fox and veteran broadcaster Ron E Sparks depart ARN

ARN has announced its content director Charlie Fox and veteran broadcaster Ron E Sparks are to leave the network.

In his role as content director, Fox worked for both WSFM and The Edge, including working on the Jonesy & Amanda breakfast show.

Charlie Fox has been with the station for over 12 years

Also leaving WSFM is veteran morning announcer Ron E Sparks, who has been with the station since 2002.

Sparks, who was one of the top rating DJs of Sydney AM radio in the 1970s, joined WSFM following his being fired by 2DayFM, after a long-standing feud with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O culminated in him writing “no smoking” in permanent marker around the studio.

Duncan Campbell, national content director said the changes were made as part of the network’s “strategy to re-energise ARN and position the network for even greater success in 2018 and beyond.”

“I want to thank Charlie for his commitment to WSFM and his work with Jonesy & Amanda in breakfast,” he said.

“I also want acknowledge Ron E Sparks who has been an icon of Sydney radio since the late 1970s and wish him the best for the next stage of his impressive career.”
