Content studio Producey hires ORTC co-founder for growth

Melbourne-based content studio Producey has hired William Swale “to lead business operations … [and] to build out the company’s apparel and merchandise vertical”.

The announcement:

Producey has added another rising star to its growing talent pool with ORTC co-founder William Swale joining the team.

Swale will lead business operations for Producey and he will also leverage his experience in the rag trade to build out the company’s apparel and merchandise vertical.

Swale, 29, has already relocated to Melbourne to get his hands dirty with Producey, working closely with creative director Sean Delgorge.

“I’ve spent the past 12 months working with the team from afar on some exciting clothing development and thought the time was right to come over and get stuck in. There’s some incredibly talented people in this building and I look forward to working with them all to grow the new brands”.

Producey, through its sports brand Clubby Sports, has been working on a sportswear range that will drop in May.

“The timing of Will’s arrival is perfect given what we want to achieve with Clubby Sportswear but he’s going to bring so much more to our business. His experience will help us unlock new opportunities and spot the potholes before we get to them. We’re pumped to have him on board.”

Swale started ORTC alongside co-founder Charlie Hender in 2016 and it has since become one of the most popular clothing brands in Australia. He will remain a director of the company from afar.

Producey was founded in 2021 by Dylan Buckley and Adam Baldwin (managing director), with Zach Kangelaris (sales director) becoming an owner in 2024.

The content team is led by executive producer Sam Bonser.

ABOUT CLUBBY’S TITLES

The Footy

Join Broden Kelly, Marnie Vinall and Tom Zahariou as they bounce that pill. It’s about footy mostly, cool kids listen. A perfect mix of comedy and footy, this series aims to be a integral addition to your listening week. Whether it’s in depth footy chat, rating the best flavoured milks or chatting with your favourite musicians and comics, this show aims to make you a happier footy fan than before you started listening.

Kick It Forward

Kick it Forward podcast is hosted by Perth-based trio Josh Garlepp, Giorgio Savini, Harry Fitzgerald and provides listeners with a weird look at sports and sports media for every fan, from athletic to apathetic. We are heavy on production as we try to separate ourselves from other podcasts with a natural blend of sports, journalism and piss.

Dyl and Friends

Host Dylan Buckley, an ex-AFL player, invites interesting and notable guests to share their stories in a humorous and lighthearted chat, with plenty of banter mixed in as well. It’s like a hug from an old mate, it’s incredibly warm, positive, and comforting. He touches on career and life highs and lows, taps into mindset and psyche and ultimately uncovers what makes his guests happy and successful.

200 PLUS

200 PLUS features the biggest (literally) people in footy talking about the game from their elevated perspective. Footy’s bigs are seen but rarely heard, and Nick Butler, Sam Draper (Essendon), Charlie Comben (North Melbourne) and Max Lynch (former Hawthorn and Collingwood) use this podcast to give this community a voice. They address the key issues of footy, provide an insight into what it’s like to be a big man in this modern world and tap into footy culture, getting into some very weird areas.

Tradies

This weekly podcast brings influential journalists Sam McClure and Mitch Cleary together to chat about trading, buying and selling of AFL players. Player movement is the game within a game and such is the business of sport, and also the appetite of footy fans, Sam and Mitch start the conversation before the ball is bounced to open the footy season. They take fans up to the mid-season draft, inside the big re-signings and then to the official trade table at season’s end.

The Ressies

The Ressies is a weekly podcast that sees Marmalade duo DJ Checkers and Srey collaborate with fellow creator, Will Taylor, to chat footy in the winter and cricket in the summer. The focus is not so much on what happens at the elite level, but they hero the community sport battler and take listeners so deep into the locker room that they can smell the liniment. The sports media landscape is saturated with rehearsed interviews from professional athletes, but The Ressies cut through the cliches to give their community an insight into what it’s like to be the last picked each week.

Life Of Brian

He’s the voice of a generation of football fans, but there’s more to Brian Taylor than his famous commentary lines and ‘Roaming Brian’ segment. BT has lived a fascinating life to date and has a swag of stories to show for it. Life Of Brian is a weekly podcast that will give BT an opportunity to share the stories that the time constraints of TV and radio don’t allow. He’ll also take listeners behind the scenes of the footy industry and into his life away from the microphone. Who better to sit alongside BT than his son, Harrison, who’s heard it all before and knows exactly how to squeeze the best bits out of his dad.

Tee It Up

Tee It Up is fast becoming the most respected Australian-made golf podcast and the go-to for anyone of relevance in the local golf scene. The show mixes quality analysis with fun, golf adjacent and social media content, meaning there’s something for everyone. The host, Kieran Nolan, is building a strong reputation within the industry, and while he’d hate to admit it, Q is becoming an influencer. Michael Block, Lucas Herbert, Dave Micheluzzi, Jasper
Stubbs, Ron Chopper and Ali Terai have all trusted Q with their story over the past six months.
