Convert Digital appointed to launch House in UK

E-Commerce web development agency Convert Digital has been appointed by kitchenware company House to develop and design its UK e-commerce solution.

The announcement:

Convert Digital Designs and Develops Ecommerce Solution for House UK Launch

Sydney, 15 May, 2018: Originally founded in Australia, House has taken its kitchenware offering global as it expands into the UK multichannel market. To co-incide with the launch, eCommerce web development agency Convert Digital, was appointed by House parent company, Global Retail Brands, to develop and design an ecommerce solution for the UK launch.

Global Retail Brands approached Convert Digital for this important launch because of the agency’s knowledge and experience of the Magento 2 platform and the flexibility it gives to offer a fully scalable, trusted and robust website.

The development did not come without challenges though as the agency had to implement new payment solutions, WorldPay, and soon to launch Klarna and Amazon Pay for the more UK targeted approach.

Some of the checkout features include an address validation tool and customisations around checkout to ensure that the addresses, phone numbers and emails that are captured would be valid for the UK.

To add urgency and transparency the agency incorporated a next day shipping countdown timer on the product pages to cut off time for the customer to receive next day shipping.

House will be opening four more UK stores by the beginning of May, and a further two by the end of June. The new store openings and online shop launch is part of House’s plan to open 75 physical stores in the UK.

Andrew Waite, Managing Director at Convert Digital said, “Launching a household homewares retail brand such as House into the UK market is an exciting step for Australian retail. We look forward to continually developing and adding additional features to drive ecommerce growth and support the House stores roll out.”

Following this launch, Convert Digital, in conjunction with the House UK team will begin the process of developing Click and Collect for launch in the next couple of months.
