I must say, the Bell Awards this year, despite having a greater variety of magazine titles in attendance and winning (long gone are the days of RBI winning everything), were pretty shithouse. To sit through and hour (give or take) of sponsor speeches, then have the awards belted through faster than most people could keep up shows a huge amount of disrespect to the attendees. I know sponsors need to “see the value” in their spend, but is that at the expense of the shmucks who have forked out to not only enter, but to attend?
