Countdown’s 40th anniversary celebrations watched by 965,000

The ABC’s celebration of the 40th anniversary of Countdown pulled in an audience of 965,000 from 7.30pm, overnight OzTam metro numbers show.

Part one of the documentary Countdown: Do Yourself a Favour hosted by Julia Zemiro, which focused on the 1970s, was Sunday night’s most watched non-news program, helping the ABC to an audience share of 14.1 per cent.

It beat Seven’s Surveillance Oz, which attracted an audience of 965,000, while Nine’s broadcast of the one day cricket from 6.30pm which saw Australia lose to South Africa was watched by 790,000 in the first session and 815,000 for the second session.
