Courtney Act stars in Wella’s ‘Own Your Colour’ Mardi Gras social campaign

Drag artist and Dancing with the Stars contestant Courtney Act has starred in Wella’s ‘Own Your Colour’ Mardi Gras social campaign.

Created by DDB Group’s PR arm, Mango Communications, the social ad features Act explaining how colour is a metaphor for identity and individuality.


“We are all colour, billions of multi-colour pixels mashed together, we feel blue, we see red, green with envy and tickled pink, but is your purple the same as my purple,” Act says in the colourful ad.

The ad aims to show the ways in which colour can help you transform from one person to the next as Act transitions into Shane Jenek.

Max Amen, general manager of Coty Professional Beauty Australia and New Zealand, said in a statement: “We are incredibly excited to kick off our 2019 campaign in colour with Courtney Act and Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.

“In the wake of our most innovative colour launch to date, we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate and represent one of the most vibrant, expressive and inclusive communities in the beauty industry.”

The ad will be airing across Wella’s social channels.
