CPA youth campaign pushes advantages of accountancy

CPA Australia, the accounting body, has launched a campaign to encourage young people to train to become accountants, pushing the idea that “accountancy is not just about numbers” but a platform to succeed in the broader business world.

Real CPAs are used in three different TV spots, who tell their stories of how a CPA background has helped them in their careers.

A digital element features interviews with trained CPAs who answer specific questions for those interested in the programme.

The campaign, which also runs in cinema, print and mobile, was created by Clemenger Harvie Edge.

Erin Gallagher, a creative director at CHE, told Mumbrella: “There is a perception that all accountants are nerds. It was a tough brief for that reason. We had to think about a number of different audiences. CPA wants to reach young Asians as well as Australians, and talk to employers about the benefits of staff who are CPA-trained.”
