Creepy bank manager ad for RaboDirect wins TV ad of the month
The winner of Mumbrella’s TV Ad of the Month contest is RaboDirect’s creepy bank manager by Whybin\TBWA\Tequila.
The ad of the month for April is part of a campaign which is based on the insight that Australians lose $4 billion every year in interest by leaving their money in low-interest savings accounts. It was first aired on April 10.
The call for entries for Mumbrella’s May ad of the month will be posted next week.

Love the ad, but I get chills when I see that creepy dude at the end… reminds me of that midnight oil bloke, you know the one that looks like a hawk.

The ad sure gives me the creeps but it sure is memorable; even if I can’t remember the client. But, more worrying is where Simon Westaway’s career will head. Can he still do the sterling work he’s given to the likes of Underbelly and way back to the ABC’s Phoenix and Janus, without being thought of as the “creepy bank man”
