Cricket helps Nine win Saturday as Seven wins the week

Yesterday’s cricket test between Australia and South Africa pulled in 785,000 metro viewers for session three from 3:10pm on Nine, making it the most-watched non-news program for Saturday.

The start of the match, which kicked off from 9.30pm, saw 430,000 tune in, with session two’s audience climbing to 602,000 from 1pm.

The Cricket Show from 12:30pm had a metro audience of 445,000.

Later in the evening, Nine’s Saturday movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, airing from 7pm, was watched by 447,000.

Seven’s Saturday movie Spiderman 3, airing from 7pm, grabbed a metro audience of 345,000.

Ten’s Scorpion at 6.30pm was watched by 228,000 while Macgyver, airing from 7.30pm, pulled in 231,000.

Hawaii Five-O, on Ten at from 8.30pm, was watched by 187,000.

Nine won the night with an audience share of 18%, the ABC claimed second place with a share of 17% while Seven managed a share of 14.9%. Ten settled for a share of 7.3%.

In the competitive news timeslot, saw ABC News’ South Australia broadcast watched by 898,000 while 879,000 tuned into Nine News and 829,000 watched Seven News.

Seven won the week with a weekly audience share of 29.4% ahead of Nine’s share of 27.2% while the ABC claimed third place with a share of 18.9% and Ten settled for a share of 17.2%.
