Australia’s Steve Smith and England’s Stuart Broad walk the world in first teaser for The Ashes
Australia cricket captain Steve Smith and England all-rounder Stuart Broad stride towards each other from opposite sides of the world in a new ad to promote this summer’s Ashes series.

The ‘Our Greatest Test’ campaign features the duo leaving cricket pitches in their respective countries and walking through iconic locations.
Smith strides through country towns, the Outback, Bondi Beach and over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, while Broad walks the the British countryside and over London’s Westminster Bridge.
The duo then meet in the middle of the pitch as Broad prepares to bowl his first ball at Smith.
The ad was made by M&C Saatchi Melbourne.
According to Ben Amarfio, executive GMr of broadcasting, digital media & commercial at Cricket Australia, the campaign aims to showcase the passion and anticipation felt in the lead up to the Ashes.
“There is no sporting rivalry quite like the Ashes in bringing our nation together in support of the 11 players who take to the field, and our advertising campaign for the series brings this to life,” said Amarfio.
“After talking to the players, you get a real sense of what they are playing for, it’s not for themselves, it’s actually for all of us,” added Paul Taylor, executive creative director M&C Saatchi Melbourne.
The campaign will run across print, radio, TV, outdoor and digital in the lead up to the series which begins at the Gabba in Brisbane on November 23.
I bet Cricket Aus won’t want the front of Steve Smith’s shirt vacant for too many more ad campaigns. CommBank conspicuous in its absence…
