The announcement:

Crossmark today announced the appointment of Brendon Walker as Client Experience Director of shopperXP, its dedicated in-store experience and sales division.

Walker, who has more than 16 years’ experience in creating and managing sales engagement solutions for several blue chip clients, was the brainchild behind the new company offering that will now house existing and new clients.

Crossmark CEO Andy Kirk said: “Crossmark Australasia has a strong vision for long-term growth along with several plans for immediate innovations which makes shopperXP an exciting business to be part of.

“We have become the major services provider to grocery over the past five years and while the company has enjoyed great success within the grocery industry, some businesses may not know that we also represent the world’s largest consumer electronics company, Australia’s leading telco, and many more tech and innovations companies. The creation of shopperXP ensures we have a voice outside of grocery that aligns with our long term goals.”

Commenting on his appointment, Walker said: “For the past eight years withCrossmark I’ve witnessed the retail environment evolve and am enjoying our evolution with it. Creating new sales opportunities for our clients has been rewarding. We have a strong vision for growth and we are attracting some talented brand ambassadors into the business to work with our clients. Our aim is create ‘WOW’ moments through connecting with shoppers in stores, selling them the right products, and strengthening our clients’ brands.

Walker added: “In today’s path to purchase landscape, competition isn’t just between brands, it’s also about whether to buy online or in-store. Online shopping can’t replace the experience of placing that product in the consumers’ hands. This is sending consumers in to stores wanting to touch, smell and interact with products before they buy them. With that in mind, the in-store engagement needs to focus more than ever on a consumer’s overall experience of the brand to lead them to purchase, and that’s why we’re launching shopperXP.”

Walker is one of the industry’s foremost retail sales and marketing strategists, demonstrating proven successes in delivering business growth solutions, identifying changing trends and adapting go-to-market strategies for both Crossmark and its clients.

Walker said: “Working closely with retailers to understand their consumer interaction strategy will be key to our success. We know we can assist retailers to move product out of their stores and look forward to growing our retailer relationships in 2016.”
