CUB’s Paul Murphy joins Cummins & Partners as head of media
Carlton & United Breweries’ national media manager Paul Murphy has exited the company to join full service agency Cummins & Partners as its head of media.
Murphy’s appointment comes seven months after Cummins & Partners’ chief media officer James Greet departed.
Before working at CUB, Murphy was a client lead at Mindshare for three years. He has also had stints at OMD, KWP! and Motivator.
“I admire their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, particularly the way it has been leveraged into the media space,” Murphy said in a statement.
“The opportunity for an independent agency in Australia has never been greater, particularly one that excels across all industry offerings to deliver solutions tailored to a client’s best interests.”
Chris Jeffares, CEO of Cummins & Partners, said Murphy is a “triple threat”.
“When looking to find the right candidate for our media lead we were impressed by his entrepreneurial spirit, creative sensibilities, passion and desire for change in the media industry.
“Paul is a great guy and will be a wonderful addition to both our business and our culture.”

@John
Yes…you represent the miserable set of schadenfreudists who can see no joy in other people doing well. Particularly if it doesn’t sit in to your world view of the industry hierarchy/ cool kids
Well try this: There is no industry. Just companies try to give jobs and opportunities to people who love the business. If we did have a industry that truly cared for its own health and well being..they would clamp down on negativity trolling and abusive commentary.
But yours isn’t even negative per se. It’s just weary, angry, defeatist drool.
Go away and let people who find the joy in serving clients and making good things happen.
Or perhaps just read the articles about people leaving their high profile jobs after 5 minutes in them, and rejoice in the fact that you are piece of the furniture in some moribund company and dont have the fight to make your job enjoyable.
My god man…you are in a service business. Go and do something great and make someone’s day.
This seems like a great hire of a great person.
