Dad is haunted by clutter in new Ikea campaign

The Monkeys’ latest ad for IKEA Australia sees a clumsy dad tiptoeing around imaginary furniture for its ‘Get Used To A Better Living Room’ campaign.

Created by The Monkeys, the ad shows the habits householders develop when surrounded by household products that don’t actually work.

Directed by The Sweetshop’s Damien Shatford, the campaign running across TV, digital, social and on out of home advertising campaign promotes IKEA’s range of retail home products.

Recent work by The Monkeys for IKEA has included a toy robot promoting home storage solutions and furniture coming to life at night.

The Monkeys executive creative director, Vince Lagana, said about the latest campaign: “It is human nature to adapt to the space around you, even when those spaces are full of clutter and are badly laid out. In this fun retail campaign, we wanted to demonstrate how IKEA offers a simple solution resulting in a better life at home.”

IKEA Australia national marketing manager, Kristin Bengtsson, added: “We love how our new creative platform shows how IKEA can solve everyday frustrations in people’s homes. We want to show how easy and affordable it is to improve your life through clever home furnishings and encourage people to get used to a better living room.”
