Daily Mail MD Peter Holder departs after eight years

Daily Mail Australia has announced managing director Peter Holder will depart the publication after eight years in the top job.

Holder has been MD since 2015, overseeing the online publication’s operations in the country. He was initially brought in as acting MD to replace Mikaela Lancaster at the time.

“We’d like to thank Peter for his significant contribution to both Daily Mail Australia and DMG Media over the past eight years,” DMG Media global chief brand officer Sean Walsh said.

“During his tenure he has built and overseen a strong and competitive commercial team while offering unique and innovative advertising solutions for Australian brands wanting to reach Daily Mail’s highly engaged local audience.

“Peter will be with us while we undertake a recruitment process for his replacement and transition his responsibilities.”

Prior to Daily Mail, Holder was publisher at the Hearst-Bauer Media joint venture from 2012 to 2014, and publisher at Australian Consolidated Press from 2003 to 2012 across a variety of publications.

Holder also was editor of The Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential from 2000 to 2003, founding editor of GQ Australia from 1998 to 1999 and entertainment editor at The Daily Telegraph from 1993 to 1998. He also worked Australian Women’s Forum and The Sun.
