Daily Tele launches next ‘We’re For Sydney’ campaign
The Daily Telegraph has used the AFL and NRL grand finals to launch the next phase of its “We’re for Sydney” campaign.
The TV spot, created by AJF Partnership Sydney, is intended to preview a wider campaign featuring real Sydneysiders telling their stories.
The campaign features more than 200 people from 50 Sydney suburbs, from Mount Druitt, to Palm Beach.
Adam Rose, creative director at AJF said: “To meet and work with so many unique people across Sydney has been such a refreshing and positive experience – their stories and willingness to get involved is what this campaign is all about. This is just the beginning of some very exciting things we have in store for The Tele.”
Says David Goldman, News Limited’s GM of marketing for NSW, said: “The Daily Telegraph proudly champions and celebrates what matters to the people of Sydney. Since the campaign’s inception in March, we have really strengthened the relationship between Sydney and our brand.”

Too bad for the rest of NSW where the paper circulates…kind of alienates them, don’t you think?

I think ‘the best address in the world’ sums it up best. Better than that stuff about anyone can be anyone. I feel that’s better suited to a place like Melbourne. And I can say that; I’m from Sydney.

Love the tweet from SMH journo Sebastian Hassett in the ‘THEY SAID IT’ column of the Tele today “Daily Telegraph’s ‘We’re for Sydney’ ad is pretty bloody fantastic. Probably get fired for saying that. #ohwell”

wow. way to rock the parochialism guys. I love all the shots of people under the age of 30… yknow… the ones who will never buy a paper.

I’m under 30. Just. And no you’re right I don’t buy the paper during the week. Like most of us in adland I’d say we read the free copy in our offices. I thought this ad was great. Made me feel proud to live here. I now know what the Daily Telegraph stands for – me. Can’t say the same for SMH.

Love this. Beautifully written and captured. What a bloody great town we do live in. Nice to see that gratuitous shots of journalists and people reading the paper were avoided. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was from The Daily Telegraph when I saw it on the weekend.

great creative – shame the paper is intensely attacking, not refreshing and doesnt report on these wonderful insights

Great spot! Congrats to those involved. I hate the tele 10% less now, seriously..

Firstly, its so been done. That new online campaign for Qantas hotel brand did this a few months back but it was for travel, which kind of made more sense. This style is not suited to a dying newspaper for one. a pointless attempt at repositioning
