Daily Telegraph raises cover price to $1.20

Sydney’s major metropolitan tabloid The Daily Telegraph has today increased its weekday cover price 20 per cent to $1.20.

The price rise, announced on Saturday, is the first increase in the newspaper’s increase in cover price in more than a decade.

The increased price  will only affect the weekday edition.

The newspaper quoted its editor Paul Whittaker saying: “This is the first increase since January 2002 and readers can still buy the paper for less than a dollar a day by subscribing seven days a week for only $6.90.”

“We will continue to deliver to our readers the most informative and paper in NSW. As always, I would like to thanks everyone for their loyalty.”
