Dan Rookwood leaves Time Out as Nick Dent steps up

Time Out Sydney’s Nick Dent has been promoted to editor as previous editor Dan Rookwood returns to London.

The announcement:

Time Out Sydney’s editor Dan Rookwood is moving back to London and Deputy Editor Nick Dent has been promoted.

“Editing Time Out Sydney has been a privilege,” said departing editor Dan Rookwood, who is taking up a new job in London. “I’m sad to leave, but do so on a high, with the title having recently won PPA International Consumer Magazine of 2010, and with several exciting developments just around the corner – Time Out Melbourne and a free Time Out iPhone app among them. I’m delighted to hand over the reins to the prodigiously talented Nick Dent and wish him all the best in what is one of the most enjoyable jobs in Australian publishing.”

Nick Dent said “I’m totally thrilled to be taking over as Editor of Time Out Sydney.”

“I love this town and I love sharing its secrets and hidden gems with readers. Time Out is a world-famous brand that stands for the absolute best in what a city has to offer and I look forward to bringing the highlights of Sydney’s food, drink and entertainment to our avid readers – in the magazine, online and via our forthcoming iPhone app.”

Time Out is seeking a new Arts / Sub-editor – applications close on Tuesday 3 August.
