Mamamia has hired Danika Johnston in the role of national sales manager for the online women’s news/lifestyle network.

Johnston was previously national sales director at sales house/production company Authentic Entertainment and will now take up her new role as second in command to sales director Kylie Rogers.

“Danika brings with her not only a wealth of industry knowledge and exceptional media relationships, but a passion for innovative digital content solutions that will accelerate the Media Women’s Network growth and that’s why I am thrilled to have her on board,” said Rogers.

In the wake of Johnston’s departure Authentic Entertainment has promoted head of brands and partnerships Greg Tremain to the newly created role of commercial director.

Greg TremainJohnston said its was Mamamia’s engagement with its audience that drew her to the role.

“I look forward to working with Kylie, being a part of the very impressive team at MWN, and to work with clients and brands to not only communicate to, but engage with the most influential group of consumers; women.”

John Wardley, Authentic Entertainment CEO, said of Tremain’s promotion: “Greg has been with the business for the past ten years and has a deep knowledge of our business which made him the best candidate for this new role. Brand partnerships are having a growing impact on the business and I am confident we can drive them forward in the coming months with Greg at the helm.”

Tremain’s role as head of brand partnerships position will be filled by Luke Cook. He moves into his new role after successfully heading up Authentic’s NSW sales operation since October 2007.
