Danny John joins Commonwealth Bank as head of group public affairs and communications
Commonwealth Bank has appointed Danny John as head of group public affairs and communications.
John joins Commonwealth Bank after a two year stint as the director of communications at financial services company, SocietyOne.
Prior to SocietyOne, John was the editor-in-chief for Westpac’s 200th anniversary celebrations.
While at Westpac John also held positions as head of media relations and as a senior media relations manager.
John began his career as a journalist and was a photographic editor at the Sun-Herald, chief of photographic staff and a banking writer.
In his new role at Commonwealth Bank John will report into the general manager of communications, Kate Abrahams.
Commonwealth Bank confirmed John’s appointment but declined to make a formal comment.
John has been approached for comment.
